Pinned topic Client Validation and Calling ActionList Builder

‏2012-12-21T12:30:44Z |
Hi,

Can any one suggest me a solution for validating field using javascript and also calling the ActionList builder. My scenario is to validate a field using javascript if the field is empty it should through a script error. If the input field is not empty it should call the ActionList builder. I am able to do either calling javascript or ActionList but not the both the builder. Please do provide a solution in this scenario.

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,
Krishna

I'm sorry, but you'll need to describe the use case in a little more detail. Are you trying to do this validation on submit of the form (via link or button or...) or on transitioning to the next input field or other?

For an empty field, the easiest way to validate it is to make it a required field (either in the Schema for the data associated with the operation or via Data Field Settings builder in the consumer model or both).

Searching this forum and the WEF Wiki (url below) for validation, may also help you determine what other validation options are available and various validation use cases. If you are new to WEF, I suggest starting with the tutorials and learning roadmap (and videos) off the Web Experience Factory link below.

If you post a sample (with no confidential info or intellectual property) showing what you're having trouble with, it might make it easier for someone to quickly spot what's wrong with it.

    I hope that info helps,
