Pinned topic Error L199 during MTT analysis.

‏2012-12-18T21:31:07Z |
Hello everyone;

I'm working in a new project, everything was OK but when i analyse the map, the result shows an L199 error, something like this

COMPONENT # is not distinguishable from COMPONENT # that may follow in TYPE: `type name'.

When i check m fields with another project MTT, i see that evety option was equal to my functionaly map, i develop the XSD from scratch because this project doesn't got with this file, so i will chech the answer of my another question for my XSD design, but i'm very worried about this error (L199).

What is the cause for this warning in my MTT?

Regards from Colombia;
Cristian.

    Did you search the WTX InfoCenter (accessed via Help Menu)? That should be your first stop before the forum.

    L199 is not an error. It's a warning. Big difference. If the type tree is only used as an output, it doesn't matter. If used as input, it may or may not matter. OTOH, best practices demand you eliminate all warnings in a type tree when possible.

    A search of the InfoCenter reports:
    L199
    COMPONENT # is not distinguishable from COMPONENT # that may follow in TYPE: `type name'.
    Hint: Make the first COMPONENT bound, or look at the tables in "Distinguishable objects" to see how you can define the two component types as distinguishable.

    "Distinguishable objects" is an active link you can click on for more info.

      Hello and thanks for your answer.

      I check the infocenter for help and i find the "Distinguishable objects", but i cannot understand this new concept. Where i can find a example or a better definition for for this?

      Regards.
      Cristian.

        You're not the only person who doesn't understand "distinguishable objects". 8-)

        You may need to create a component rule in your type tree that allows WTX to "distinguish" between the records that the validation process is having trouble with. For example. if the records contain record IDs, at the record level of the file object you could say Field1:$="RecType1" or whatever value the field contains that identifies it as a certain type of record. Also, look at setting a field in the record as an "Identifier" by right-clicking on the field in the record object.
