Pinned topic ITNM for IP attempting to drop user on Object Server

‏2012-12-17T20:09:13Z |
Earlier today, I was alerted to a very strange event within the logs on an Omnibus Object Server being used with a Tivoli Network Manager for IP instance. It appears that ITNM is attempting to drop the root user on the Object Server and has been attempting to do so several times an hour now. Here is a small sample of the Object Server log entries:

2012-12-16T19:04:57: Error: E-OBX-102-017: Language command from root@+ITNM_SERVER+ failed. Denied on line 1 of statement 'DROP USER ' root''
2012-12-16T20:04:58: Error: E-OBX-102-019: Failed to execute parsed language command. (-3600:Denied)
2012-12-16T20:04:58: Error: E-OBX-102-017: Language command from root@+ITNM_SERVER+ failed. Denied on line 1 of statement 'DROP USER ' root''
2012-12-16T21:04:59: Error: E-OBX-102-019: Failed to execute parsed language command. (-3600:Denied)
2012-12-16T21:04:59: Error: E-OBX-102-017: Language command from root@+ITNM_SERVER+ failed. Denied on line 1 of statement 'DROP USER ' root''
2012-12-16T22:05:00: Error: E-OBX-102-019: Failed to execute parsed language command. (-3600:Denied)

I have no clue why ITNM is trying to do this nor what process or component is responsible for this. If anybody has any ideas about this I would greatly appreciate the feedback. Thanks!

    Hi Robert,

Can you clarify which version of ITNM and OMNIbus you are using?

Can you also clarify your architecture i.e OMNIbus + ITNM on one machine or distributed set-up?

    thanks,

    Neil

    Hi there Neil,

This is a multi-server installation, so Omnibus and ITNM are running on separate systems. We are using Netcool/Omnibus 7.3.1 and SNEM 1 (aka ITNM 4.0.1). Thanks.

    Hi Pavel_Alexei,

Please ignore this thread. Question was posted in error concerning a development version of ITNM (unreleased).

    thanks,

    Neil
