Pinned topic Deleted Export

‏2012-12-17T15:33:33Z |
Hi,
I had a question. I am currently trying to create a way to export objects from DOORS, but i want to make the objects which had been deleted export in red, or another color, to show that they were deleted. Is there a way to do this? Like maybe a "deleted" attribute or something of that sort?
Thanks!

    Never tried it.

You could add an enumerated DXL-Attribute "IsDeleted" with two enumerations, "Deleted" and "". Associate "Red" with "Deleted". The Attr-DXL code is trivial:
    • if (isDeleted(obj)) //
    • then obj."IsDeleted" = "Deleted"
    • else obj."IsDeleted" = ""
I think then you can modify the properties of the "main" column to have color based on attribute "IsDeleted". I wonder if that will export.

Good idea! I forgot about that! I'll play around with it and see what I can do. Thanks for your help!

Oh, I forgot. Is there any way to make the deleted objects visible using DXL? I know there's an option in a menu, but I'm trying to streamline it, so is there a DXL command that will make the deleted objects viewable?
    Thanks!

Not sure if you're trying to export to MS Word or maybe MS Excel, but if it's MS Excel then maybe have a look at Michael Sutherland's "Enhanced Export to Excel" DXL script which you can download from http://www.galactic-solutions.com/GalacticDownloads.htm.

This has an option to add color to deleted objects amongst many other excellent export options to MS Excel. It's open code so you can modify to suit.

Do not do this in a layout or attr-DXL.

Alternatively, if exporting to MS Word, you could probably set the "Paragraph Style" of the deleted Objects to a specific style which has to be defined in the template.
