Pinned topic Not getting the media library status for TS3200 tap library

‏2012-12-12T11:18:51Z |
We have a TS3200 tape library which is connected to the system through SAN switch and one drive is assigned to the i5 O/S partition from this library. The same drive (Tap01) is only auto configured/showing in the IOP/IOA, not showing the TAPMLBxx. I have tried with creating MLB devices manually and done the IPL of IOP and also power off/on the IOA. Still the same happening. Can any body suggest how to get the TAPMLBxx?. is there any settings to be changed in tape library? ( tape library is in random mode)

Regards,
Libish

Hi Libish, does the drive have a control path defined? If not, you will have to define one for this drive on the TS3200.

From your question, it looks like you are sharing the TS3200 with another system. Is it also an IBM i or another platform. if another platform, you need to make sure that you partition the library

    Thanks
