Pinned topic Performance of SCA binding over Web Service Binding

‏2012-12-12T06:36:17Z |

We have created two server profile wps01 and esb01 on a Websphere Application Server. We have to hit a BPEL process deployed on wps01 from mediation module deployed on esb01. I have implemented both WebService and SCA binding for the same and both are working fine. I want know is there any advantage o SCA binding over WebService binding in such type of environment.

The big benefit of SCA bindings is where both sides of the pipe exist within the same JVM and WPS can make use of pass by reference type functionality. If you're going between JVMs, then most of this advantage is lost.

I suspect that the majority of the time is going to be spent marshalling/unmarshalling and moving across the wire so there is likely to be little in it between them.
