Pinned topic Debugging in IBM Data Studio 3.2

‏2012-12-11T20:55:13Z |
In previous versions of Data Studio I was able to debug by first running the
db2dbgm.bat file to get the IP and port # of the session manager and then in the Preferences/Run/Debug/Routine Debugger/IBM selecting the "use and alrady running session manager?, filling in the IP and port with what db2dbgm.bat told me.

In Data Studio 3.2, when I try as before, it ignores the debug and just runs to completion without trapping the execution. I have to instead select the "use the built-in Session manager" option which works, but seems slower.

Does anyone have any insight into this?
thanks,

phil j.

I have tried with DS3.2 against DB2 for LUW v10 fp1. I don't have problem to debug when selecting the "use and alrady running session manager". Can you try with a new workspace?

    Thanks,

I forgot to mention that I am running against Z/OS 9.1, if that makes any difference.

Ah well, just tried against a LUW SP and same result - execution was not trapped.

It does make a difference. I can reproduce your problem with z/OS v9.1. Looks like the session manager having a problem. Thanks for catching it! Can you open a PMR?

In addition, what LUW version did you try?

    Thanks!
