Anyone know what the "\\pard" indicator is used for in formatting strings?

\pard signals that the paragraph shouldn't inherit paragraph-formatting attributes from the previous paragraph.

Is it also a "paragraph" indicator; or must you: "\pard\par "?

    Hi Louie,

From what I gather, the '\pard' does not create a new paragraph and so, yes, you need to '\par\pard'.
Not sure whether the order really matters, but this is how I've seen it used.

Here's a question from the larger perspective. Where does one look up these formatting
directions as they are mentioned in the DOORS DXL Manual (but not explained)?

GOOGLE - rtf is an international standard and not DOORS specific

I would presume the \par must come first, otherwise the \pard would apply to the previous paragraph.

RTF is a Microsoft proprietary standard, currently at version 1.9.1, a good Wikipedia background & history can be found by clicking here, the v1.9.1 RTF Standard can be downloaded by clicking here (good reading for insomniacs).
