Pinned topic ClearQuest e-mails sent with wrong timestamp in Outlook

‏2012-12-04T15:48:11Z |
Hello,
After upgrading to ClearQuest 8.0.0.3, e-mails generated from ClearQuest e-mail rules contain a sent time 5 hours earlier than real time. For example, when a CQ record is updated at 10:00 AM local time, an e-mail in MS Outlook shows that the e-mail was sent at 5:00 AM. However, the "Recieved" time in Outlook accurately shows the 10:00 AM time.
This did not occur prior to our upgrade from 7.0.1.
Thanks for any help.

    Hello,

It would be very interesting to see the headers of the e-mail. Can you post them here?

    Hi,
Thanks for your response. I am not sure what you mean by the header information. Here's a sample e-mail that was actually sent at 9:36 AM:

    Hi,

When I said "headers" I was more referring to the headers you see when you look at the source of the e-mail.

Looking at the e-mail, it was sent at

    Date: Tue, 4 Dec 2012 09:36:00 +0000

which is 09:36 UTC - assuming you're on the US east coast that would explain the 5 hour difference.
What is the time zone set to on the CQ Web server? If this is on Windows, is the WebSphere Application Server profile that CQ Web is installed in running as "Local System Account" or as a local/domain user?

    Hi Christian,
The WebSphere Application Server profile is running as "Local System Account".
I don't know how to check where the time zone is set on the CQ Web Server. I believe this is the whole problem.
    Thanks!

I am seeing the same thing with my 8.0.0.4 clients. Any resolution?

There is a defect in CQ 8.0.0.3 and 8.0.04, where incorrect timestamps are sent on the emails.   As of today the defect has not been resolved.

Having the same issue but noticed a trend:

I am in Phoenix which is minus seven hours UTC.

Had an email that was sent at 15:03  but the time stamp was 08:03 (7 hours earlier).

It may be that the code is correcting twice for the UTC offset.

In our case that would mean that it is subtracting 14 hours from UTC instead of 7.

Does this math hold for others in different time zones?

We have upgrade our CQ from 7x to direct 8.0.0.6 and i have same problem (outlook email sent times shows 5.30 hrs difference which is exactly our server  time zone which is "GMT+5:30"), is there any hotfix or can i know the status of the defect or how to fix this.

    Regards
