Pinned topic Our apologies… for Open Schema Reference

‏2012-12-04T12:50:49Z |
Hi,

Working with the latest IBM WebSphere Application Server V8.5 Liberty Profile Developer Tools V8.5.1 I found the Open Schema Reference menu upon right-clicking Server Configuration http://server.xml in the Servers view.

It ends up with the infamous "Our apologies... The page you requested cannot be displayed" from IBM.

Is this supposed to work?

    Hi Jacek,

I did a fresh install of IBM WebSphere Application Server V8.5 Liberty Profile Developer Tools V8.5.1 on Indigo. The Open Schema Reference menu opens the references for me. Is it possible that the server was download when you tried it?

    Thanks,

    Jason

    Sorry.

"Is it possible that the server was download...", I meant "Is it possible that the server was down..."

    Hi,

What server are you referring to? WLP was up and I double-checked it now and can confirm the issue still occurs. I'm on Juno however.

Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers.

    Version: Juno Release
    Build id: 20120614-1722

    Hi Jacek,

I meant the server that serves up the reference page, not the WLP server.

    Hi Jacek,

I installed it on Juno SR1. The schema reference works fine. I notice that the build id of your Juno is not the SR1. Will you please retry it on SR1?

    Thanks,

    Jason

    Hi,

What server shall I start? To be honest I don't even expect WLP to be up and running for the schema reference. I assume it should be one of the (many) IBM servers which servers the reference, shouldn't it?

    Hi Jacek,

The link in the tools takes you to the schema reference topic within the public information center here:
    http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/wsbroker/redirect?version=phil&product=was-nd-dist&topic=rwlp_metatype_4ic

This link did not work in the first published version of the tools, but it does work in the latest published version, so my best guess is still that your copy of the tools is not the most recent version.

    Thanks,
    Barry

    Hi,

I'm really, really sorry for not reading your helpful responses carefully. Today, when I helped other people with WLP, I noticed I got so much to update, including Eclipse itself and WLP tools. I indeed worked with the previous versions of Eclipse and the developers tools for WLP.

Once updated, it worked fine and pointed to Liberty profile Configuration elements in the server.xml file.

Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers.
    Version: Juno Service Release 1
    Build id: 20121004-1855

    OSGi Application Development Tools
    Version: 1.5.100.v20121016_2112

Thanks for patience and sorry for the noise.
