Pinned topic WebSphere ESB Licensing questions

‏2012-12-01T16:34:49Z |
Hi, I am new to WebSphere, and trying to figure it out about licensing. I need some help with it.

Do we need to buy additional license for Application Server if we bought ESB?
Do we need to buy additional license for ESB for pre-production environment?

Thanks in advance

As far as I know you don't need to buy any licenses for WAS; ESB covers that... and yes you need to buy licenses for the pre production too.

To create messaging engines in ESB cluster, DB2 license is bundled with WebSphere ESB, and you don't need to buy any additional DB2 licenses for that (you can not use DB2 for other applications, strictly used for ESB messaging engines).

    Thanks, Arun.
Good point about messaging engine and DB2.
