Pinned topic Error Applying CICS/TS 4.2 Developer Trial

‏2012-11-29T21:03:26Z |
I'm trying to do an SMP apply of the CICS/TS 4.2 Developer Trial using CBPDO. I'm encountering the following error:
HOLD MISSING HELD RESOLVING RESOLVER
TYPE FMID CLASS APAR SYSMOD SYSMOD STATUS

ERROR H0Z2110 HIPER AA40674 H0Z2110

I'm not seeing any PTF to resolve this HIPER APAR and this is preventing install of the product. Thanks.

Hello - I am investigating the HIPER APAR.

Please can you tell me if you plan to use Rexx for CICS with the CICS TS 4.2 Developer Trial?

    Thanks

Probably not unless there are functions of CICS 4.2 that use CICS/REXX internally. Do I just want to skip applying the CICS/REXX function? Thanks.

The Service Flow Feature and Rexx for CICS FMIDS (HCIZ300, H0B5110, H0B7110, and H0Z2110) are not required unless you are using these specific tools with CICS TS. CICS TS will run fine without these FMIDS and they can, for the sake of installing and running CICS TS 4.2, be treated as separte products.
In order to get past the ++HOLD for the HIPER I would suggest you remove HCIZ300, H0B5110, H0B7110, and H0Z2110 from your SMP/E Apply and Accept step of the SMP/E installation. This should get you installed and running.

I am investigating the HIPER. There will be no problem installing the Service Flow Feature and Rexx for CICS FMIDS at a later date, if required.

    Hope this helps

Thanks. I've removed these features and was then able to successfully apply and receive the product.
