Pinned topic SVC - Set the SCSI protocol to SCSI-2 or SCSI-3?

‏2012-11-29T08:25:54Z |
Hello,

I get a question if a host in a Windows cluster must set the SCSI protocol to SCSI-2 or SCSI-3? This Windows cluster is attached to a 6.3.0.2 SVC.
I tried to find an answer for this question, but no luck sofar.

Thanks in advance,
Allevatore.

Where are you setting this value? We have never had to set such value. The SVC supports the SCSI-3 protocol.

My apologies for the late response, but the question came from the windows-environment. There is a setting where you can set the SCSI support value to SCSI-2 or SCSI-3. At this time it is set to SCSI-2 and because of some strange errors the question came to me if it is wise to set this to SCSI-3 support.

What I understand sofar is that SCSI-3 is better handling SCSI reservations then SCSI-2 so we probably set the value to SCSI-3.

      Thanks.
