Is there anyway to specifie the number of attempts the server should make to deliver a message sent to a queue before discarting or sending to a dead letter queue that message?

Re: Max delivered count of a message2012-11-30T10:16:31Z in response to SystemAdminAre you asking about channels delivering messages or some other means?
If channels, then you could look at the Message Retry options. These allow you to configure how many times a channel with retry a failing put before going into its normal failure processing which would include attempting to DLQ the message and then:-
1) discarding if non-persistent
2) ending the channel if persistent
The fields are called MRRTY (Message Retry Count), MRTMR (Message Retry Timer - i.e. the interval between attempts).
If this is not what you meant, please reply again with more detail.
