Re: Explain Package2012-12-28T07:01:07ZThis is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer. The EXPLAIN PACKAGE command will populate the explain access data into the PLAN_TABLE that is owned by the current user. It indicate how the data is accessed by the db2, such as using index scan or table scan. You can also use Data Studio Query Tuner to review the explain access data in graph or text. The attachment is a sample.
The data populated into the explain tables(PLAN_TABLE) is very useful for query tuning. It indicates if the current access plan is good or not, if the created index is used by DB2, and how the index is being used, and so on.
