Pinned topic BNT 2/3 switch config issues

‏2012-11-16T03:24:07Z |
So we got a BTO flex env. We're trying just to get the basic networking part of the BNT's to work and are failing really bad. So far, we've wasted 3 days on the BNT configuration. Right now, we've whacked the config and set it back to the default.
First hw:
FC3593 IBM Flex System Fabric EN4093 10Gb Scalable Switch qty 2
FC3596 IBM Flex System Fabric EN4093 10Gb Scalable Switch (Upgrade 1) qty 2
FC3597 IBM Flex System Fabric EN4093 10Gb Scalable Switch (Upgrade 2) qty 2
qty 5 p260 blades, plus 1 fsm at 1.1.1 (does not matter)
Nic card is FC1763 Broadcom 4-port 1Gb Ethernet Expansion Card

So what we are trying to do is have 1 isl from a Cisco Nexus switch into port 14 on the BNT. We can see STP changes getting propagated through the ISL, but we can't pass any data via the isl, or ping the gw. We can't even ping the blade or FSM from the bnt switch.

Here's a rough config (FROM MEMORY) of what we had before we got pissed off today:
!!

int port INTA1
tagging
exit
int port INTB1
tagging
exit
int port INTC1
tagging
exit
int port EXT14
tagging
exit

vlan 102
enable
member INTA1,INTB1,INTC1,EXT14

!!

All network comms are passing out the mgmnt port. I believe that is the problem, but any help would be greatly appreciated in advance. We plan on nim'n on this network so until it comes up, no os, which means bad juju.

We found the problem...cisco related and config of the ext port:

cisco side required a shutdown before the bnt came online and was configured. After the bnt is configured do a no shut on the interface. The interface was set to trunking.

    Next on the bnt..

    int port ext14
    tagging
    tag-pvid
    pvid 110
    exit

the tag-pvid was required to make the trunk pass the multiple vlans. I hope this helps...
