We have a customer with an LTO 5 HH drive (Model 3628 - as seen here http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/Redbooks.nsf/RedbookAbstracts/tips0826.html)
Firmware for a TS2250 has been loaded onto it - Version C7RD, this was done using the Tape Diag's tools and was accepted and applied correctly.
We are trying to load the correct firmware for the 3628 model drive, however the firmware will not load. "ibm_fw_tape_lto-1.4_windows_32-64"
If anyone has any advice on how we might get around this issue it would be appreciated.

Re: IBM LTO5 HH 3628 xxx - Wrong firmware2012-11-15T01:04:23Z in response to BerniebgbbI have another HH LTO5 drive (same mode) with correct firmware, is there any way we can dump/save the firmware from this drive using the IBM Tape Diag Tool?
Then load it on the other?

Alternatively you can dump the firmware from one drive to a so-called FMR cartridge, then use this cartridge to update the second drive. Please see the TS2250 Tape Drive Setup, Operator and Service Guide, Chapter 3 for details.
