I have the following setup for a VMware ESXi 5.1.0 Cluster.
(2) IBM x3650 M4 Servers with (2) IBM 6Gbps SAS HBAs
IBM DS3524 with Dual SAS Controllers
The servers are direct-attached to the SAN
When choosing my Host Type on the SAN, I'm presented with two choices for VMware, VMWARE and VMWareTPGSALUA. Which one should I be choosing? Are there any other tweaks I should be making to this SAN for this setup? Any scripts that need to be run?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Re: Which VMware Host Type for DS3500?2012-11-29T10:59:45ZThis is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer.Hi Project951,
i have an identical setup and was also wandering about this.
did you get any response from IBM so far ?
I choose VMWareTPGSALUA.
I must say that the speed on the vm's when eg selecting a disk in windows (c: or d:) is not what I expected.
There is some latency (seems like system is searching its way to the storage).
i will test with regular vmware.
bye for now
