Pinned topic Can CC MultiSite Server (Solaris) work with CC MultiSite Server (Linux)?

‏2012-11-13T09:45:55Z |
Hi all,

We're using Rational Clearcase MultiSite 7.x. Currently, we have 2 ClearCase servers at 2 remote sites. These 2 servers use Solaris 10 Sparc.

Today, we wish to add one clearcase server for a remote site into in system. My question is: can we use Linux RedHat Enteprise (x86_x64) for this server? Will it have any problem with replica synchronization/import/export?
We knew that Clearcase MultiSite Server 7.x did support on many platform Solaris, Linux, Windows,... However, x86 is a little endian architecture while SUN SPARC is big endian one. So, we wish to have a confirmation for sure.

Thanks,
NoelNguyen

    Hi,

Yes, you can use Linux for the server. There is no issue from replication side.
BTW, if you are using NAS storage, you need to be careful selecting RHEL version.
