We have a problem with our bladecenter/vmware-solution.
When we look in vmware, we got packet-drops, lots of them.
And we can see traffic going on wrong VNIC.
I cant see any packet drops in the Switch Module.
We run the Emulex-cards in "Independent Mode" and we split each 10Gb in to 2x5Gb VNIC.
One for storage and one for network.
We seen similar problems on other solutions too, like HP bladecenter with Emulex-cards.
I think there is a issue with the Emulex-card-firmware/driver.
The setup is:
IBM Bladecenter H
Emulex 10GbE VFA - firmware 4.0.1062.0
BNT VF 10Gb Switch Module - firmware 7.2.2
IBM ESXi 5.1

you are right, the wrong Emulex VFA firmware is source of problem. The good one available here:
Offline OneConnect Flash ISO x.103.397.3806

Re: Bladecenter H - HS22 - Emulex - VMware packet drops2012-11-20T10:18:14Z in response to SwehosterThank you, I tried to flash this firmware.
But the option to run the Emulex-cards in "Independent Mode" is not there.
I dont think the "feature" is implemented in that firmware version.
So I cant configure it to work at all.
