Pinned topic Issues in scanning assembler program

‏2012-11-09T10:49:02Z |
Hi,

We are using RAA version: v 6.0.0 on Windows.

We scanned a sample assembler program.
a. Without file extension, this was identified as 'PL/1- included source.'
b. With extension, this is identified as 'Assembler - included source' (not as 'Program source')

Attached is the source code.
Error code: DMH1852E
On mainframe, we were able to compile this successfully though.

Can you help to resolve this?

I see three issues in your post:

    1) The file without extension being identified as PL/1 (should be Assembler)
    2) The file with extension being identified as an include (should be program)
    3) The DMH1852E: Cannot find an EntryPoint for <name> error message

    Is that correct?

    1) RAA development team will open a work item to address this, in the meantime you can change the languageCd via the User Interface.
    2) RAA development team will open a work item to address this.
    3) The RAA workstation product does not analyzer Assembler source (as the input to the analysis is the SYSADATA file out of the assembler translater). The assembler files have to be analyzed on z/OS and the import file created downloaded to the workstation for import into RAA. The install documentation describes how to setup RAA on the workstation to request remote assemblies and downloads of the results for importing. If you have any issues with the instructions, contact Level 2 support.

    1) Change language \ type for this element is not possible. This is ignored, when tried. (ERROR: DMH5368W)
Thank you for clarifying the rest.

I think the language issue has been corrected with version 6.0.0.8. I have not tried, but refer the post https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=14798080&#14798080

Specific to setting language and type for Assembler:

Error resoltuion provided in Fix Pack 6.0.0.11. Refer to contents of the Fix Pack Readme, locating 37589 listed under the User interface category. Or, see the developerWorks announcement Fix Pack 11 (6.0.0.11) now available for RAA and RAA for System z

Also, see related post: Unable to change language from ASSEMBLER to TEXT
