Pinned topic Can we use Microsoft Sharepoint as ECM instead of Filent?

‏2012-11-07T12:32:16Z |
Dear All,

We have a requirement to use Microsoft sharepoint as the document repository. I understand that ICM stores all documents in FileNet Content Manager. Would it be possible to use Sharepoint as the ECM system instead of Filenet?

Thanks.

Case Manager requires an underlying FileNet repository to store case-specific constructs. We do provide an integration to CM8 that enables CM8 content to be used in cases and as the store for case-related documents.
If you want to store case-related documents in a different repository, then you will have to build a connector to do this and will have to work out how to move the required artifacts into/out of the Sharepoint repository.
