Pinned topic Issue with Levels of Impact : Impact Analysis

‏2012-11-07T11:02:09Z |
Hi, I am using RAA 6.0.0.10. When performing the impact analysis the option available to select the level of impact analysis (1,2,5,10 and unlimited). But even if I select ‘1’, it is performing with the ‘unlimited’ option and the the result shows "Scope of analysis" and "Levels of impact analyzed" are always 'unlimited'. Is there any solution available to fix this?

Thanks.

It is a documented limitation. Please refer to: Limitations when using Rational Asset Analyzer impact analysis

I had not seen this limitations document after the rework. This statement has called my attention:

    Length and offset overlap tracing
Tracing the immediate parent and child structures based on their relationship to an impact analysis starting asset remains enabled. However, additional tracing beyond immediate parent and children to include data elements related as determined by storage length and offset overlaps is disabled. Your result set might have fewer impacts when compared to previous releases.

Does this affect in any way the tracing of redefines ?

If now RAA provides only <unlimited> option for impact analysis, then the options to select 1,2,5 etc need to be removed from the wizard. It's misleading. It was a useful option.
