Is there a way to correctly assing a USB device via the vio server to a P770 Lpar? I would think you would assign it as a cdrom device using a virtual scsci definition via the vio? If someone has a procedure for this I would greatyly appreciate it.
Thanks.

There is no support to directly virtualize USB today. You have to assign the entire USB controller to the partition.
