Pinned topic Very slow volume mirror copy

‏2012-11-05T21:21:38Z |
Hi,

I have a 512MB volume and I make a mirror of it. It took 4 minutes to completely synchronize a 512MB volume? Is it normal?

Thanks,

That sounds right, refer to the information center (table 2 - "Relationship between the rate value and the data copied per second"):
    http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/storwize/ic/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.storwize.v7000.doc%2Fsvc_addvdiskcopy_3p7qlq.html

The default rate is very conservative; a sync rate of 50 maps to ~2MB/sec

You can use the CLI or the GUI to dial up the rate the mirrors are synchronised (-syncrate) if you want it to go faster.

Thanks. After changing the sync rate, everything seems to copy faster.
