Pinned topic How to confingure raid 10 on an m3 3550

‏2012-11-03T13:28:03Z |
I know my way around software raid(newbie, but can manage) but not when it comes to hardware raid.
I'd appreciate help with setting up raid 10 on an m3.

Detailed steps would be appreciated, but a link to an article would be even better as i'd like to learn instead of just fix this one issue at hand.

Note: i've checked the user guide, but there's a number of explanation that it got me confused.

    Time-to-Flash, thanks for your reply.

    lspci | grep -i raid
01:00.0 RAID bus controller: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic Device 0079 (rev 05)

and in the hw specs this is what's listed:

    6 Gbps RAID -0, -1, -10 or 6 Gbps RAID -0, -1, -10, -5, -50 with 256 MB or 512 MB cache and additional option battery backup (model dependent)

    Dear Zuhaz,

looks like ServeRAID-M1015 SAS/SATA controller used in your server (use DSA tool for checking).

    IBM System x3550 M3
    IBM Redbooks Product Guide.

There are few ways, for example, you can use IBM ServerGuide CD for RAID configuration.
