We are using WLP 8.5 and wanted to send server-sent events(SSE) to our client(s) in real time mode. We were wondering if there's an plug in for WLP that'll provide SSE or websockets or something at a higher level of abstraction over any/all of them...? If not, do you know the dates when they plan to support SSE ?

Re: Liberty Profile: plug in for WLP that'll provide SSE or websockets ?2012-11-02T14:26:18Z in response to SystemAdminFrom what I understand, SSE (from HTML5) doesn't require any explicit server side support as it generates traditional http requests. I believe you could handle those requests in a servlet, etc. I'm not aware of any abstractions provided by WLP on top of SSE.
The JavaAPI for WebSockets isn't completed yet, but is currently being worked on as part of JSR 356.
