Pinned topic How to un-localize Liberty Profile Developer Tools?

‏2012-10-31T19:20:14Z |
I have installed IBM WebSphere Application Server V8.5 Liberty Profile Developer Tools on eclipse Juno (fresh WTP instance) and unfortunately it have picked locale from my operating system and now the tools UI is partially in polish. And I want to have everything in English.
I have added the following lines to eclipse.ini
-Duser.country=US
-Duser.language=en
But it doesn't help.

I have found that ${workspace}.metadata\.plugins\com.ibm.ws.st.core\WebSphere Application Server V8.5 Liberty Profile\server.xsd file is loaded with polish documentation and when I delete it, it is recreated with polish documentation.

Any suggestions?
I think there is a special hell for those that localize development tools (try to google something then) especially without any visible choice of locale.

Best Regards

Thanks for reporting the problem. This one looks like a bug on the tools. I have created a defect to keep track on this problem.

If you need any more details ask.

I have checked that WebSphere Application Server V8.5 Liberty Profile\server.xsd is recreated without network access so now I'm looking for local source from where it is retrieved.

The server.xsd is created by the Liberty profile runtime. You can get the runtime to create one yourself by running the following from the liberty install directory:

    java -jar bin/tools/ws-schemagen.jar server.xsd

This will generate it in your default locale for the platform, but if you want to change it, to get it in English, you can do:

    java -Duser.language=en -jar bin/tools/ws-schemagen.jar server.xsd

    Thanks

    Thanks. It worked.

Still, it would be nice for the eclipse tools to set the language for the schemagen to the language that was set for eclipse rather than default to platform default.
