Pinned topic HS22V - VMware PSOD - Emulex VFA (CNA) Card

‏2012-10-31T03:11:33Z |
Hi All,

I have a client with Multiple HS22V's with Emulex VFA Adapter 49Y4235 running VMware 5.0, we are getting intermittent PSOD on reboots when it scans for storage.
The cards are working in pNIC Mode connected via iSCSI to a NetApp Array (poo), The PSOD occur's when loading "be2net driver".

We have recently (today) updated the firmware on the HS22V to the latest Firmware release and included the new Emulex VFA firmware - 4.0.1062.0

Now we are still getting PSOD and can not see any storage at all.....

The VMware hosts have been patched to the latest levels (of 5.0), we have a call open with VMware...

I have searched google and found something similar with a HP blade setup... (Old...vSphere 4.x but maybe....)

So next I am looking at CNA VMware current driver versions and what new drivers are avaliable. The one below was put up this month.

Anyone see this before?

    • Resolved **

Re-flashed VFA card with EMULEX Flash CD / Package and all issues gone, turned out the IBM update express package with the Emulex update applies the firmware to the card however causes other issues.

In Short: Flash with code sourced from Emulex site.
