Pinned topic NIC Teaming on HS23 Blade

‏2012-10-25T09:58:02Z |
I really need an answer on this one. We are looking at teaming the following two adapters in an IBM HS23 blade. Both are based on the Broadcom 5709 chipsets.

First adapter: 44W4479 (2/4 Port Ethernet Expansion Card (CFFh) for IBM BladeCenter) - uses a Broadcom 5709 chipset
Second adapter: 44W4475 (Ethernet Expansion Card (CIOv) for IBM BladeCenter) - uses a Broadcom 5709S chipset

Can someone please confirm that the BASP software will support NIC teaming across these two NIC's on a Windows 2008 R2 server? I can't find anything on IBM's web site, and can't find a supported teaming matrix on the Broadcom web site.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm betting it works without an issue as i've team different vendors NIC together, but I need to get something in writing for a customer.

    Hello,

From my understanding HS23 is supplied with Emulex ethernet controllers onboard. I still believe broadcom advanced control suite should support other vendor teaming options..

Here is download link for you:

      Hello,

BACS is not able create NIC teaming, since there is not Broadcom NIC in team.

This may help you with Emulex NICs
