Apparently it is not possible to use the ClearCase SCM plugin with RAD 8.5 running
in 64 bit mode ?
We wanted to upgrade from RAD 7.5 (32 bit) to RAD 8.5 (64 bit), but this is
a kind of showstopper for this upgrade.
Our ClearCase environment is at version 220.127.116.11 (mainly Windows7 clients)
and all the developers are using snapshot views.
Are there any alternatives for integrating ClearCase with RAD 8.5 in 64 bit mode ?

Re: ClearCase plugin for RAD 8.5 64bit2012-10-26T13:11:01Z in response to SystemAdminOfficially, the SCM Adapter plugin is not supported on 64 bit platforms; see http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21460547&rcss=se
This statement is valid unless the Eclipse JRE is 32 bit.
Also, CC, when installed on 64 bit platforms, runs in emulation mode (32 bit).
So, if you want to keep using CC with RAD, you must give up the IDE integration, and perform checkouts, checkins, deliveries, etc. from CC explorer.
As an alternative, you may consider migrating to Rational Team Concert, which fully supports 64 bit and RAD integration.

Re: ClearCase plugin for RAD 8.5 64bit2012-10-26T20:01:51Z in response to LumartHmm, checkout/checkin from the CC Explorer will not be an option for our developers.
Migrating to RTC needs a lot more study, and then also other alternatives will be investigated.
It is a pity that IBM has rejected the RFE to port the SCM adapter to 32-bit. I guess that voting for a
rejected RFE doesn't make much sense.
For the time being we'll continue running RAD in 32 bit mode then.
