Pinned topic Run an external script in TAD4D
I'd like to know if it is possible to run an external script (like an Oracle database sql script, or any executable file) from TAD4D.
If so, it would be great to know which are the steps to run the external script - or where I can find documentation on this.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply.
I have few more questions on TAD4D functionalities and capabilities.
- Is there any document that can confirm that TAD4D cannot run external scripts (like an Oracle database sql script, or any executable file)?
- About software discovery: Does anyone knows if TAD4D can be configured to use fingerprints, and how the tool can be configured. I'd like to understand which are the step the the user need to take to configure TAD4D to discover and detect software using different fingerprints or signature files.
- Is it possible to get in contact with a Product Manager from TAD4D Product development?
Thanks so much in advance!

Alex,I am not aware of such document.You can try to run external scripts using CIT XML signatures (operand RunCommand), but there are limitations (it has to be in cit\bin\customscanners\) and I do not think it is documented anywhere. Here is example of CIT XML signature body:
<Signature guid="test" name="test">
<Variable name="IS_INSTALLED" export="true">
</Signature>Here you can find described siganture types and their use:http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/tivihelp/v62r1/topic/com.ibm.swkbt_1.2.2.doc/com.ibm.adm.doc/com.ibm.signatures.doc/t_signatures_managingdistributedsoftwaresignatures.htm
I think you will need to try to reach to your IBM account rep to get in touch with Product Manager.
