Pinned topic Websphere ESB -Tibco integation

‏2012-10-23T08:06:43Z |
We are doing integration between websphere ESB and Tibco EMS.We have configured Tibco as JMS provider in websphere.

Question : In a scenario, if Tibco goes down for some reason, what will happen to the messages that ESB is publishing to Tibco ? Will that messages will be lost or is stored failed event manager? Is there any buit-in mechanism to publish these messages automatically when Tibco becomes available or we need to write a custom component to achieve it?

Thanks in advance.

Typically if you try and send an Async message and are unable, it will be sent to the failed event manager. From there you can re-submit the events once the EMS is back up via the Failed Event Manager in the admin console. Alternatively you can write a custom app to do this.

If you're using v7 and later, then you may want to investigate the Store and Forward option.

      Hi,
I have tested a POC by implementing the store-forward feature.
Here I noticed, when the EMS was down the messages were going to the local queue instead of generating failed events. Now the problem is that when the EMS became available, the messages where still going to local queue, unless forward button in business space was clicked.

Is there a way by which all the messages which comes after EMS becomes available, will go to EMS automatically instead of going to local queue.

      Thanks..

The way store and forward works is that you need to manually go and restart the forwarding of messages. It assumes that you, as the administrator, know when the problem has been resolved and hence when to start re-sending the messages to the downstream system.
