is there an easy way to port code from one broker to another broker? without having to redeploy the bar file?

This question cropped up on MQSeries.net a couple of days ago.

Most users build and deploy using some kind of automated system ( e.g. Ant scripts, shell scripts, Perl etc ). That makes the process very easy to repeat.

Can you explain why you need to do this?

      Thanks for your response.

The problem we have it we wanted to replicate any existing broker and we built a new set of broker for this purpose. The problem came up when we had to move the application logic to the new server. We should maintain current set of production bar file but we don't have that :-). Wouldn't it be easy if there is a way to migrate application logic from one broker to another.

I couldn't find any way to do it in 6.1 other than redeploying from tfs or using ant script.

Remember that it's not just the BAR file contents that need to be migrated. There may have been property overrides in those BAR files. How are you intending to migrate that kind of thing.
What about configurable services that were deployed?

It might be useful to be able to migrate application logic, but it would not remove the need for a proper configuration management system with scripted deployment. That's your basic problem, and that is what you need to fix.

          I completely agree with you...

but where does the deployed code sit? since broker is kind of a jvm right? if we compare to the J2EE world the deployed code should be some kind of folder structure right? abc.ear -> abc.war -> xxxxx
