    Hello Nidhi,

    The IBM Support Assistant 4 Workbench is only supported on 32 bit OS and has not been tested nor is it supported on 64 bit OS systems. Please see the following technote with regard to the system requirements at: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27013653.

    If you wish to run IBM Support Assistant on a 64 bit Linux, may I suggest that you look at the IBM Support Assistant 5.0 Team Server, which is currently in beta. This version is supported on 64 bit Linux systems For more information regarding IBM Support Assistant 5.0, please visit our home page at: http://www-01.ibm.com/software/support/isa/

          Hello Nidhi,

          I am not sure which IBM Suport Assistant 5.0 Beta you currently have. On Friday evening we replaced Beta with a new Beta 2. This new Beta 2 is installed with the IBM Install Manager, so there is no RPM package for IBM Support Assistant.

          Here is the link to the install documentation:
          http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27036160

          You may want to also verify you have the latest Beta 2 download, as we do not offer a 32bit installation for IBM Support Assistant 5.0 Beta any longer.
          Please make sure that you also read this technote, as the Linux 64bit OS are required to have these dependancies for 32-bit versions of OS system libraries for IBM Installation Manager.
          http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21459143
          Please let me know if you have any further questions.

          Thanks,
          Ricky Holcomb

            Hi Ricky,

            I have opened a heap dump dumped by IBM Websphere Server i see one instance of "com.ibm.ws.sip.container.transaction.TransactionTable" loaded by <systen class loader> occupies 96.42 % bytes and we suspect because of which we are getting out of memory.
            Can you please advice is this is a known problem?? some fix already given for this issue ??
            Or there may be other problem also because of that we are facing this problem??
            Please find the attached screen shots.
            Thanks in advance.

                Hello Nidhi,
                I am a little lost on where we currently are with this forum post. Also it seems that the screen capture did not get attached to the post.

                I would like to verify the version of the Support Assistant that was installed and on what platform. We have talked about Linux 64bit and 32bit, IBM Support Assistant v4 Workbench and v5.0 Team Server (Beta 1 and Beta 2).

                1). Can you recap which Linux architecture you are using 32 or 64 bit?
                2). Which Support Assistant do you currently have installed v4, v5 Beta 1 or v5 Beta 2?
                3). If v5 Beta 1 or Beta 2 are you installing are you using the embedded liberty runtime server or the optional EAR files deployment in WAS Application Server?
                4). If you are running in an existing WAS Application Server, then you must be at a min of 7.0.0.21 or higher for V5 Beta ( per our documentation. From what I gather you are currently using WebSphere Application Server version 7.0.0.15.
                5). For Linux there are also required Package dependencies for X11 to generate images by some problem determination tools.
                6). Then could you also please restate what the current issues you are having with as many details as possible?

                Thanks,
                Ricky Holcomb

                  Hi Ricky,
                  Sorry for diverting the topic to other issue but i was getting out of memory exception in Websphere Application Server and to analyse the heap dump i used ISA. those issues i faced while installing ISA in 64 it linux server.
                  I Installed IBM Assistant Support v5 Beta 2 on seperate 64 bit Linux server not on the existing Websphere Server but still no success i was getting some error then i used MAT standalone for 64 bit Linux with dtfj plugin. Using that i can able to open the heap dump of IBM Wepshere Server and based on that i see most of the instance of "com.ibm.ws.sip.container.transaction.TransactionTable" loaded by <systen class loader> occupies 96.42 % bytes.
                  So my previous question is related to this issue.
                  Please advice if you have any idea??

                  Regards,

                    Hello Nidhi,

                    Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. So it looks like you are successfuly in installing the IBM Support Asstant 5.0 Team Server Beta 2 and was able to run the MAT tool successfully and now you are requesting assistance reading the results. I believe that the WebSphere Application forum may be able to better assist you with reading the results of the MAT tool. If so, you may want to post this question on the WebSphere Application forum at:
                    https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=266

                    One other thought is to first run the Automated Analysis scan on the case. This will identify symptoms found in the case files and may provide information like technotes, known issues, APAR's, Fix Packs, etc. This might help you to identify the issues on the symptoms that you are seeing and help you to resolve the issue.
                    Please let me know if you need anything further.

                    Thanks,

                            Automated Data Ananysis seems like we have to collect the data from the live Server but here the issue is we got the heap dump from the live site and we are analysis that heap dump.
                            So whether in this senario it will help?

                              Hello Nidhi,

                              In the example 0000 Case we have a heapdump that you can practice with. You just need to use the scan this case button at the top of the Console UI. If you have already created a case and then added your heap dump to that case. You should be able to scan the case files which would include the heap dump file. Once the scan is completed, if you click on the Symptoms tab, you might find information regarding your issue. Select the symptoms tab and then select the tab that says "Containing files". As you click on each of the symptoms in the list, the panel below will show you if it was related to the heap dump file or some other file in the case. Once you locate symptoms associated with the heap dump file, then change from the "Containing files" tab to the "Knowledge Base Matches" tab. This will point you to any known issues that may have been found with your heap dump.

                              I have a attached a few screen shots to help you out.

                              If you need assistance with the tool we can assist you, but if you are looking for assistance with analyzing a heap dump, this is considered consulting services, which we can not do. You would need to contact IBM Services for that type of support.

                              Thanks,
                              Ricky Holcomb

                            Hi Ricky,

                            Thank you so much for the response.
                            Automated Data Analysis seems we need to run with the live setup but here the situation is we got the heap dump from the live site and we are anaysing the heap dump for the issue.
                            Whether it is useful here?

                            Regards,

    Ok, I fixed this a time ago, and I spent a lot of time again fixing this. So I'm documenting this in all the forums that blue guys only tell this config is unsupported.
    There, please be my guests, try changing the file:
    cat /opt/ibm/IBMSupportAssistant_41/rcp/rcplauncher.properties
    #Tue Nov 29 09:44:32 GMT-06:00 2011
    product=com.ibm.esupport.platform.branding.isaproduct
    rcp.data=${env.HOME}/ibm/isa41
    jvm.parent.feature.version=2.1.6.0-200903301321
    jvm.feature.version=1.6.0.20081022-200903301321
    rcp.install.id=1322581467
    jvm.feature.id=com.ibm.rcp.j2se.linux.x86.feature
    provisioning.manifest=file\:/${rcp.home}/rcp/deploy/install.xml
    eclipse.name=eclipse
    provisioning.manifest.version=1322581472121
    jvm.location=${rcp.home}/rcp/eclipse/plugins/com.ibm.rcp.j2se.linux.x86_1.6.0.20081022-200903301321/jre/bin/classic/libjvm.so
    jvm.parent.feature.id=com.ibm.rcp.jvm.feature
    osgi.splashPath=platform\:/base/../../shared/eclipse/plugins/com.ibm.esupport.platform.branding,platform\:/base/../../shared/eclipse/plugins/com.ibm.esupport.platform.branding.nl
    provisioning.application=com.ibm.rcp.provisioning.application.ProvisioningApplication
    provisioning=true
    com.ibm.rcp.core.locale=
    rcp.base.location=${rcp.home}/rcp/eclipse/plugins/com.ibm.rcp.base_6.2.0.20090330-1321
    install.configuration=multiuser
    update.policy.managed=true
    config.initial.1=-application
    config.initial.2=com.ibm.rcp.lapinvoker.LapInvokerApplication
    config.initial.3=-initialCompleteFlag
    config.initial.4=config.initial.complete

    Best rewards!

      I managed to install ISA WorkBench in Fedora 16. I used rpclauncher.properties above as base.

      I had to install libxkbfile-1.0.7-2.fc15.i686 RPM since /opt/ibm/IBMSupportAssistant_41/rcp/eclipse/plugins/com.ibm.rcp.os.linux_6.2.0.20090330-1321/os/linux/x86/libos.so had unresolved dependencies.

      I had to remove several times $HOME/ibm directory as well.

        I'm glad at least my time spent installing support assistant on Fedora helped someone. For the record, I think you used strace to find what library was missing. Right?

          I used ldd command to identify missing library displayed in console. =)
