Pinned topic rhapsody available licenses on server

‏2012-10-12T13:07:43Z |
Can a user tell how many licenses are available on the license server using some tool? Or do you have to log into the server?

If so, what is the tool to view the available licenses?

Yes you can keep a track on the number of licenses that are available for aa Application using LMTools... To get a complete detailed summary you can click on Perform Status Enquiry option under the tab Server Status.

Here you can also get an update about how many licenses are being used at a given point of time.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks & Regards

You can find LMTools (License Tools) by naviagting to Start > Programs > IBM Rational... You should be using Floating Licenses to view the usage status..

OK. In order to configure Rhapsody you would need to make use of IBM Rational License Server....

I don't need to configure Rhapsody. I want to see if I am using a license or not. I verified that I don't need to be on the license server to do that.

In order to know which license you are using and from which machine in Rhapsody click on Help > About. Select License and it would give you details of license you are using. See attached screenshot

Yes, these activities can be performed only from the machine where License Server is installed and NOT client machine

not entirely true, Rhapsody does not support these activities on the client machine anymore since I found a workaround.
