‏2012-10-12T10:08:56Z |
Hi,

I am trying to install IBM Rational PurifyPlus 7.0.1.0-002.1 for AIX. I had run the ./rs_install command but it asked me for license. I have downloaded it using IBM Software Catalog. How to mention license details as I have not found any license file inside software package? and what to do after that ? any best installation guide ? or easy steps to do ?

There is no license inside the software package itself. Licenses are typically
downloaded from the Rational License Key Center. If you are evaluating Purify
or PurifyPlus, please contact your IBM Account Manager to get a temporary key.
If you are an IBMer, please send me an email so we can discuss (dmnguyen@us.ibm.com).

      Hi,

I have downloaded IBM Rational PurifyPlus 7.0.1.0-002.1 for AIX using IBM Software Catalog. I have an access to IBM Rational License key Center as well. Now I am confused which license key I need to download from there. I can see the following options

      1. IBM Rational PurifyPlus for Linux and UNIX Floating License Key
      2. IBM Rational PurifyPlus for Linux and UNIX Named User License Key

Which license key will be suitable for IBM Rational PurifyPlus 7.0.1.0-002.1 for AIX? I have no complicated requirements just want to run the tool first.

Whats the difference between these licences ? I am unable to understand.

      Thanks

        Hi WiseMind,

        Either key would work.

        1. The IBM Rational PurifyPlus for Linux and UNIX product supports
AIX, Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and SUSE Linux
        Enterprise Server (SLES).

        2. The FLOATING license simply limits the number of concurrent
users. For example, if you had 2 FLOATING licenses, any two
people could use PurifyPlus at any given time.

        3. The NAMED USER license is assigned to an individual. Only that
individual can use PurifyPlus. (The license is tied to your
        Linux/UNIX login name).

I received your email and will respond to that as well.

            Hi Ismat,

My recent emails to you keep bouncing, but this is the information I
was trying to get to you:

            >
            > A quick question, As a business partner where we can raise PMR?
            > Can you provide the link where business partner can raise PMR for
            > their problems? Please mention the steps. Is that necessary to
            > have customer id for raising PMR? Or Business Partner credentials
            > are enough?
            >

Well, "It depends". Since your company has a Value Package that
doesn't expire until 5/16/2013, you can call the PartnerWorld Member
Services number to get to BP support. You can find your local phone
            number on this web page:

            Best regards,
