I am using Maximo 7.5 with WebSphere and Oracle.
Maximo is integrated with a document management system, user can attach a document from the document management system (DMS) into Maximo. When user attaches a document from DMS, file will physically reside in the DMS and only the http link (URL) of the document will be saved with Maximo as attached URL.
Now user wants to print the attached document, but document at these attached link (URL) are NOT considered as printable and not printed with report however any file attached using 'Attach New File' option to the record prints fine.
Please help how to make the document at URL print with the report.

Other than that, depending on your printing mode or setup, determine if the attachement will be loaded via the client directly or it will be proxied/delivered via the MXServer instance (which in turn would need to have access to the DMS via the same URL however w/a session on their own.
for what it's worth...

Re: How do Maximo 7.5 decides attached document is printable or not?2012-10-11T12:33:42Z in response to maxmixHi. If you want to print an attached document with a report, the functionality is called Direct Print with Attachments (DPA).
When you use, DPA, the following determines if the attachment is printable or not
DPA supports the following Attached Document types: .pdf, csv, txt, gif, jpg, ppt(x), doc(x), xls(x)
A. If you try to print an Attached Document type that is not included above, you will receive a message on what is and is not printable.
Example: Three attachments are made to a record: 1 .gif, 1 .doc and 1 .cad. If you click on the DPA icon, you will receive a message
'2 of the 3 Attached Documents are Printable. Click OK to proceed, Cancel to End'
This functionality, along with other details on enabling this, are contained within the guide called 'V75 Report Application Toolbar Access: Browser View, Direct Print and Direct Print with Attachments'. This can be downloaded at the url below
Additionally, all Maximo report reference materials can be accessed via this location
