Do we have any specific reason to use vmware for Maximo? We need to install Maximo 7.5 on vmware; does anybody have any document around this?

We run Maximo 7.5 on Microsoft's Hyper-V. Aside from anything that needs to be installed into the OS to support the virtualizations, the installation of Maximo is the same as it would be on a bare metal system.

Hello! As the previous posted has pointed out there is nothing special that you need to do to deploy Maximo in a virtualized environment beyond configuring the host operating system for the VM.

For reference here is the latest supported Platform Matrix that covers Maximo. You will find Hypervisors listed on the spreadsheet.
