Re: What is main objective of Datapower boxes XA35, XS40,XI50 and XI522012-10-08T13:26:45ZThis is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer. You can get details on currently offered appliances at http://www-01.ibm.com/software/integration/datapower/, but in general:
XA35 was solely an XML Accelerator appliance that supported HTTP(S) protocols
XS40 added security functionality, services XML FW, MPGW, and WSP, and added the FTP(S) protocol
XI50/52 added integration functionality, including any-any transformation. Also MQ, SFTP, WAS JSM, IMS Connect protocols. The XI52 is the same functionally, but is a 2U appliance with more memory and a faster processor.
XG45 is a newer model of the XS40 with some (not all) integration functionality.
I don't see the XA35 offered on the web site anymore, and the XS40 has been replaced by the XG45, and the XI50 has been replaced by the XI52.
