when I use the remote syntax check, the following job card from the property group is used:
//<JOBNAME> JOB ,
In our environment (RDz 188.8.131.52) the <JOBNAME> is replaced with HLQ of the dataset of the source followed by a 1.
Is it possible to parametrize the jobname with the current userid instead of the HLQ (something like %USERID%)?

Here is my property group JCL tab information:
//<JOBNAME> JOB (18597,DART,DART),'RDZ SUBMITTED JOB',
And here is the resulting JCL that was substituted:
//A001631 JOB (18597,DART,DART),'RDZ SUBMITTED JOB', JOB09956
Edit your Property Group assigned to the COBOL member, look at the JCL tab and make sure the substituted JOB CARD has <JOBNAME> not <HLQ>.

When you select the 'Compile Link' generation, does it prompt you for any input?
It should ask for a job name, Member name, and JCL dataset name
