Pinned topic Change the PW of the DB user

‏2012-10-04T16:11:31Z |
Hi forum,

I have a strange question.

I have IBPM V7.5.1 with WAS V7.0 FP23 on Linux for System Z.

The DB userid password was changed and I have changed all the DS configurations and they connect successful but I still get the following error thrown at me when trying to re-enable Global security and at startup.

Caused by: com.ibm.bpm.security.provider.TeamWorksSecurityException: Error receiving filtered internal users (reason: com.ibm.db2.jcc.am.SqlInvalidAuthorizationSpecException: jcct4201311249http://4.11.69 Connection authorization failure occurred. Reason: User ID or Password invalid. ERRORCODE=-4214, SQLSTATE=28000)
at com.ibm.bpm.security.provider.BPMInternalSecurityProvider.getUsersWithFilterWithDatabase(BPMInternalSecurityProvider.java:825)
at com.ibm.bpm.security.provider.BPMInternalSecurityProvider.getUsersWithFilter(BPMInternalSecurityProvider.java:765)
at com.ibm.bpm.security.provider.authentication.websphere.BPMInternalProviderImpl.getUsers(BPMInternalProviderImpl.java:132)
at com.ibm.ws.wim.adapter.urbridge.URBridge.search(URBridge.java:605)
... 44 more
What else do I have to change where?

Specifically from Neil's link I think you want to look at your configuration files. I'm betting you installed with a stand-alone, not ND (cluster) install. This means you are using the database security provider and need to update the 98Database.xml files per the instructions http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/dmndhelp/v8r0mx/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.wbpm.imuc.ebpm.doc%2Ftopics%2Ftcfig_db_pwd_postconfig_3.html

Andrew, you are so right, it is a stand-alone environment.

Ok, now where do I find the new encrypted password?
Remember, my DB is remote and so is my DB user, where do I get the encrypted password on DB machine?

The info center is your friend. If you followed my previous link, how to encrypt a password was the next item down in the left hand navigation -

    Andrew,

    I saw that.

I think I should have worded my mail correctly.

BPM PC runs on machine A

    DB2 run on machine B

The DB user does not exist on machine A, only on machine B.

Can I run the encryption process on machine A and use that encrypted password?

I think you perhaps were confused by the "JohnDoe" in the example. Other wise I can't understand what you are asking.

Step 2 in that instruction is

Run the java -cp utility.jar com.lombardisoftware.utility.EncryptPassword <password> command, where <password> is the password that you want to encrypt.

So, someone needs to say "The password for the database user is 'blahblahblah'" You then login to your process center and call the above command, puting "blahblahblah" in where it says <password>.

It doesn't matter where the user exists, it only matters what password value you need encrypted.
