Pinned topic Setting Geolocation Infromation Manually

‏2012-10-02T16:58:32Z |
We are preparing a ShowCase for a client. For this Shocase we are using a Geolocation Feature & would like to set the location of the presentation in the emulator.

Is there a posiblity to set the gelocation via the form? As much as I can tell it is only possible to either drag the map or to use the randomizer (which is of no use, by the way ;-).

Many thanks for your very swift reply (demo is tomorrow evening ;-).

All the best - Alex

Nobody has an idea? How do you guys test the geo location? How do you present it if you have a showcase?

Worklight ships with Apache Cordova, so you should be able to replicate the examples listed here:
      http://docs.phonegap.com/en/2.1.0/cordova_geolocation_geolocation.md.html#Geolocation

You may also want to read up on Apache Cordova and Worklight here:
      https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/mobile/worklight/getting-started/

      Module 07.4 - Apache Cordova (PDF, 641KB)
Module 08.3 - iOS Development Using the Apache Cordova Plugin (PDF, 527KB)
Module 09.3 - Android Development Using the Apache Cordova Plugin (PDF, 345KB)

Getting geolocation data is not a Worklight specific thing, you can find a lot of code samples on the web if the ones above didn't work, for example:
      http://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_geolocation.asp

You can also fake the location by providing your own data using the Mobile Browser Simulator after you implement some of the code referenced above.
