Pinned topic DS3400 had NVSRAM deleted now getting a lockdown state due to SubmodMis

‏2012-09-28T21:30:38Z |
Getting an error on boot up of a DS3400 that states "Controller entering SubmodMis lockdown state…". The engineer before me said that he did a "delete NVSRAM" in an attempt to rest the unit to factory defaults. Obviously this was the wrong thing to do, as it has wiped some vital information from the NVSRAM.

I've used the serial port to reload the NVSRAM and Firmware, however the controller is still going into lockdown mode and not running the storage software.

Does anyone know how to reset the SubModel ID on the controller?

Thanks;
Tom

    Hello,

    You can try :
    On serial port

    bcmNvsramSync_SOD

    And reboot controller

Thanks for that command. Unfortunately it did not work. I was able to downgrade the controllers to 6.x firmware and boot them up completely, however I would like to be able to run the 7.x firmware on them this is still a problem.

Thanks for your reply, but I'm not sure exactly what you are asking for when you say "DS support data" from the array. Could you elaborate?

          Tom

            Hi Tom,

read the next doc for detailed info about collecting of Support Data (section Critical event problem solving in "Chapter 7. Troubleshooting") :

Thank you for that document Alexander, however since SOD is not running on the controller, Storage Manager will not recognize the controller to gather the support information.

                Hi Tom,

could you explain the current status of your DS3400. What working, what out of order, how you use it now?

                Regards,
