my customer intends to use TSM for Space Management triggered by GPFS ILM.
I understand that triggering a migration to an external pool is an asynchronous operation from GPFS standpoint, i.e. the mmapplypolicy command completes before the migration actually takes place. Am I correct?
I guess the TSM admin console allows to monitor the migration operation. Is there a way to check the results of the migration from a GPFS command?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Migration to external pool: How to know the result of a TSM/HSM migration?2012-09-27T18:36:35Z in response to SystemAdminAssuming you are going to use the dsmmigrate command, following GPFS samples/ilm/mmpolicyExec-hsm.sample
then I believe the dsmmigrate command will indicate success or failure. The sample script shows one way to handle TSM error messages, you are free to improve on that!
