Hi,

This afternoon (-5GMT) I tried to access to the infocenters for DB2, and I found that "I do have have permission to visit them"


Forbidden   You don
't have permission to access /infocenter/db2luw/v9r7/ on this server. IBM_HTTP_Server/7.0.0.19-PM46234 (Unix) at 9.162.144.27 Port 8443


What does it mean? what happened to that public information? Who is playing with the InfoCenter servers?

    Outages on IBM infocenter websites are common, but I don't know the reason. It is frustrating.

    If access to the infocenter is critical for your project, get a local copy of the Infocenter installed for those emergencies and publish it on your intranet - the software allows such a setup, and it isolates you for periodic outages and connectivity issues, at the cost of some storage and setup time.

    Sometimes the outages are short, other times they are long outages.

    Sometimes the sites are visible and operational for one territory while other geographical regions have problems.

    I don't know your region, but on September 26th 2012 during the UK GMT working hours I did not find any issue accessing the V9.7 Infocenter of DB2 - though perhaps those working hours did not overlap with your timezone.

    Hi,

    There was an outage yesterday from about 3PM - 5PM EST yesterday with all the ICs hosted in Dublin. DB2 V10.1, 9.7 and 9.8 were affected. DB2 v9.5 and V9 are still hosted at another site and were not affected by the outage.

    Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. We will be working with the hosting team to get information on the cause and figure out something to minimize any down time for the ICs.
