i'm researching on the possibilities of remote lightweight automated data collection on WAS 18.104.22.168 using ISA Workbench without ISA Agents.
I heard the rumor but can't find confirmation that the ISA Agent Manager can connect directly to the WAS 8.0 and above Systems as the they have the functionality of the older ISA Agents built in. Can you confirm this? If yes, could you provide some links on that?
I understand that ISA Data Collector is THE lightweight alternative solution for the cases when ISA Agents and ISA Agent Manager are too much overhead. What I'm wondering is if there is a way to use the ISA Data Collector thgough ISA Workbench, perhaps is it comming soon?
Thanks in advance,

Re: Remote AND Lightweight Automated Data Collection on WAS 8.*2012-09-21T15:45:28ZThis is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer. You should be using the ISA Data Collector as a stand alone data collection utility.
FYI - The ISA DC for WebSphere is available at http://public.dhe.ibm.com/software/isa/isadc/index.html?taxonomy=ApplicationServer
We are moving away from ISA WB / Agent Manager / Remote Agent topology for data collection - You can use the above mentioned ISA DC instead.
Please do let me know if you have more questions.

thanks for answering.
Ok, I understand you indirectly mean, there is no way ISA Workbench will work without ISA Agents, this confirms my suppose.
I also suppose by "We are moving away from ISA WB.." you mean moving to ISAv5 Beta which has a similar Data Collector built-in, correct? Now I tested the ISAv5 but it seems like the Data Collection Feature in it is somewhat different (different sizes of the exported .zip collectors) from the ISA DC from the Link that you gave me. Are these two Data Collectors identical or not? Or may be in the final (non-beta) version of ISAv5 they're going to be identical? Thanks.
Re: Remote AND Lightweight Automated Data Collection on WAS 8.*2012-09-24T12:34:11ZThis is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer.Yes - by moving away from ISA WB Client, I meant ISA v5 (which is in Beta right now). But, there is no data collection utility with it.
ISA DC is available from the URL i mentioned below. So, when you mention that the exported zip from ISA v5 and ISA DC are not identical - I do not know what you mean by that.
For ISA DC - please use http://public.dhe.ibm.com/software/isa/isadc/index.html
