Pinned topic RBD 8.5 + subclipse (SVN) - heap size error

‏2012-09-20T14:29:24Z |
Hi,

I have a large workspace (migrated from VAGen) in RBD 8.5 connected to SVN thru Subclipse.
When I generate my EGL (whole workspace or large projects) to java, I get a heap size error.
I disconnected all my project from SVN, and generated whole the workspace without any problems. (even able to work in RBD while generating).

What can be the issue here ?
SVN is set up incorrect? My settings in RBD? SVN ignore list incomplete? Autosyncronize ?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Greets,
Chris

    Hi,
are the generated Java files in SVN? If they are, what happens if you add to the SVN ignore the directories to which Java is generated?

The java files are not in SVN. The java is generated to directory EGLGen/JavaSource/com..
The directory EGLGen/JavaSource/com is in SVN ignore list and all the java code is not in my synchronize list.

Perhaps you should try posting at users@subclipse.tigris.org. I took a quick look at Subclipse forums but did not find anything relevant.

It looks as though RBD is not wrapping the java generation in a WorkspaceModifyOperation,
which would result in the Subclipse resource change listener receiving multiple resourceChanged
notifications during the generation, each of which causes another SVN status cache job
    to be scheduled.

This is an interesting find. It poses a dilemma that even if RBD were misbehaving here, there might not be any obligation to fix it as SVN is not supported - in particular if this misbehavior does not affect CVS or RTC plug-ins.

    Hi,

All RBD generators run within a WorkspaceModifyOperation.
