Pinned topic Image RPM requirements

‏2012-09-20T13:26:49Z |
Is there any doc specifying the image requirements such as which RPMs must be installed on the OS? Not all RHEL will have ksh which is required to run the install.sh. Are there any other RPMs required?

There is no really good answer to this question. Linux is extremely flexible when it comes to installing a base image, so it depends entirely on what was installed. We do know we need ksh for the ITM agents and I have seen some installation not work because the libstdc++ libraries were missing. On other images, these libraries were there.

I think the ITM documentation does list at least some of the pre-reqs for cli installations. Doc should either recapture or reference this.

The documentation to which you refer happens when some tester encounters a missing prereq and opens a defect which if "fixed" by adding something to the documentation. If you did some minimal Linux installation, you could have many, many missing prereqs, which would vary depending on platform and Linux distro.
