Pinned topic Running jre from different folder on AIX

‏2012-09-17T07:35:20Z |
Hi,

My product is dependent on java 1.6 and I want to create a redistributable package of jre 1.6 (For AIX 6.1 and 7.0) with my product. So customer not need to install java and he can run product with provided jre. For it I install java 1.6 on AIX machine and copy jre folder from there to some other folder. Now when I run jre/bin/java -version it not return any result. Is it possible on AIX to run java from some other folder?

Thanks

Which package did you install onto the filesystem? Redistributeable packages are provided, and they can be expanded into any location.
